A 43-year-old resident of Transcarpathia was robbed in a train heading to Kyiv.
In Svalyava, the victim was joined by a fellow passenger, and in Stryi the man noticed his new friend on the platform with the stolen bag.
A train conductor reported the theft to the police officers. Soon they found the offender. He had already thrown away the victim’s documents and spent all the money on alcohol.
The thief explained to the policemen that he could not resist the easy loot because he has no stable income.
The data on the crime were entered in the Unified registry of pre-trial investigations. The pre-trial investigation continues.
