A Transcarpathian journalist is implementing a large-scale television project in Europe

The well-known Transcarpathian journalist and the author of the Uzhgorod.in site is making a unique in its kind film. As Maxim himself writes, what was supposed to be a short reportage have grown into a real documentary film about two villages with the same name, two Schönborns.

"Two villages with the same name – Schonborn.  One is in the Lower Lusatia of the Brandenburg region of the former GDR, and the other one is in Transcarpathia, Ukraine. By sheer accident these settlements have the same name. For the past two years, we have regularly visited both villages, whose inhabitants have let us into their lives. Our film is about escape, homeland, and changes", – Melnik tells about the idea of the project.

The film, in the opinion of its authors, will help overcome the existing stereotypes in Germany and Ukraine. The authors want to show how similar are the problems and pleasures of the people living in small villages, despite all the differences in living conditions in our countries.  And who knows, maybe this film will make you want to see Transcarpathia or Lower Lusatia yourself.
