Serhiy Mykhailytsky – the head of the customs post "Maly Berezny" of the Transcarpathian Customs – participated in the IRONMAN triathlon tournament held in the city of Barcelona, Spain, the SFS website reported. According to the program, the athlete was to swim 3.8 km in open water in the Mediterranean Sea, ride 180 km on a bike and run 42.2 km on the promenade Pineda de Mar and Calella. Serhiy Mykhailytsky, overcame 226 km in 12 hours 31 minutes 54 seconds, in particular, 1 hour 7 minutes 42 seconds for the swimming section, 6 hours 27 minutes 6 seconds for the cycling section, and 4 hours 34 minutes 1 second for the running section.
– I’ve been practicing triathlon for four years, this is the second competition for me. I work out every day: I run 15 km, swim at least 3 km, ride on bike 40 km. Of course, not everything at the same time. Sometimes, I combine swimming and cycling, – Serhiy Mykhailytsky says. – Anyone, who makes an effort, can overcome 226 km. I encourage everyone to practice a healthy lifestyle, and maybe next year you will become the "Iron Man" and overcome 226 km – Serhiy Mikhailytsky says.
According to the athlete, it takes about two years of training to prepare for such a tournament. Next year, the head of the customs post plans to take part in the OCEANMAN competition.
