A scandal related to a notorious former member of the City Council occurred in Uzhgorod.
This information was sent by the press service of the company to Transcarpathian media. They say the following.
On Friday, January 20, employees of the economic security service of the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC revealed a significant imbalance between technical records of the power company and readings of the meters at the hotel "Intourist-Zakarpattya" on Svoboda Avenue in Uzhgorod.
Given this information, during the on-site technical inspection in the hotel "Zakarpattya", the power company employees detected a device, that was used to stop the meter in order to consume electricity without accounting (or simply put, to steal it).
During the execution of the report on violation of the use of electricity rules, the head of the Economic Security Service Volodymyr Faradzhan – one of the most experienced employees, who is over 60 years old – was attacked. An unknown person hit Mr. Faradzhan in the face, knocking him down, and took the material evidence.
Police officers were called at the scene. Volodymyr Faradzhan is currently in hospital.
The attacker was identified as Pavlo Mayerchyk, former deputy of Uzhgorod City Council, known for scandals concerning dubious developments and misappropriation of green areas of the city.
