Investigators of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region initiated an investigation into an accident in Tyachiv district. The car was taken to the impound lot of Tyachiv police station.
Yesterday, February 15, at 20.45, the Transcarpathian police received a report of an accident with victims. The accident happened in the village of Bushtyno in Tyachiv district. The investigative team arrived at the scene.
At the scene of the accident, law enforcement officers found out that the driver, a 25-year-old resident of Bushtyno, driving on a passenger car "Mersedes", lost control and ran on a pedestrian moving in the same direction. The citizen died at the scene of the accident from injuries. The deceased was identified by law enforcers. He was a 40-year-old resident of the same village.
The investigation department of the Transcarpathian regional police opened a criminal proceeding over the accident under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules, which caused the death of the victim). Sanction of this Article provides for punishment by imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The car was taken to the impound lot of Tyachiv police station. The investigation continues.
