A participant of the ATO was buried in Irshava

The 47-year-old participant of the ATO Ivan Ohar from Irshava died on December 15th. He died not from bullets, but at home – due to illness. By the way, this is the first funeral of an ATO participant in the city.

Ivan Ohar was mobilized during the second wave to the 4th battalion of territorial defense, and later he served in the glorious 128th Transcarpathian separate mountain infantry brigade. Together with fellow soldiers he was protecting civilians of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region. His classmate, colleague Victor Buleza recalls that on war Ivan was always ahead of everyone, because he was ready to "sacrifice his life for all of us."

Ivan Ohar was discharged with the rank of sergeant in June 2015. He returned to civilian life, plunged headlong into work, family life…

He was buried on Saturday, December 17. The funeral was attended by neighbors, including several participants of the ATO, brothers in arms with flags, friends, city officials. Then, accompanied by the military brass band, they marched to one of the city cemeteries on Ukrainska street. There, he was buried to a military salute.

Ivan Ohar is survived by his mother, brothers and sisters, his wife Tetyana, and two adult children Mykhailo and Oleksandra. And granddaughter Irina, who was born when her grandfather was defending the territorial integrity of the state. Because of that he received the call sign "Grandad"…

Rest in peace, Hero!
