On June 9, in the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, Honored Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Svalyavchyk presented a collection of works under title "Wooden temple architecture of Transcarpathia". 27 canvases depict the best examples of the spiritual culture of the region. Those are, in particular, attractions of Velyky Berezny, Mukachevo, Svalyava, Volovets, Tyachiv, Rakhiv districts and, mostly, Mizhhirya and Khust districts.
The artist can not single out any of the churches, he says they are all equal and dear to him, he was painting them with the same zeal. In general, it is an almost complete collection dedicated to church architecture among collections of Transcarpathian artists. Vasyl Svalyavchyk was working on it for decades, and with regret notes that during this time, some churches have disappeared or have lost their original appearance, so the remaining ones should be especially appreciated.
In fact, the purpose of the presentation, according to the artist, was to get tourists interested in temple architecture so that after the exhibition, they would want to see the churches in reality. The exhibition will run for two weeks.
