It is the figure of a sports orienteer.
The monument was opened as part of the opening of the international orienteering competition "Friendship Cup". The honor to open the sculpture was granted to the participants of the first All-Union Orienteering Championship, which took place 50 years ago back in 1963 near Uzhgorod.
The figure of a sports orienteer can now be seen on Kyiv embankment opposite the Drama Theater. Traditionally, it was placed on the railing of the embankment.
The author of the sculpture is Vasyl Bedryk.
