А monument to the wise old man Andriy Voron will be established in Mukachevo

In Mukachevo, there was a press conference with the participation of the head of the culture department of the executive committee of Mukachevo City Council Irina Kaliy, Ukrainian writer 
Miroslav Dochynets, People’s Artist of Ukraine Ivan Brovdiy and the chief architect of the city of Mukachevo Ivan Ivanovchyk. During the meeting with journalists, they discussed the development of culture in Mukachevo, as well as a new project – the monument to the wise old man Andriy Voron, which should become a tourist highlight. Irina Kaliy began with pleasant news about the allocation of a record amount of UAH 1 million 550 thousand for the development of culture in Mukachevo.

"We are really grateful to the deputies for the positive decision on the allocation of funds for cultural 
development of the city. The funds are allocated for the organization of cultural events, 
competitions, festivals, exhibitions of works of fine and folk art, awarding scholarships, awards of 
Mukachevo City Council, literary prizes", – the head of the culture department said. Irina Kaliy also 
said that a monument to Andriy Voron would be established in Mukachevo soon. "Recently, we 
received from the community the proposition to establish in our city a sculpture of the sage Andriy 
Voron. Such initiatives of townspeople are very pleasing, and now together we can make in another 
tourist highlight," – the official said. According to writer Miroslav Dochynets, Andriy Voron is directly 
related to the city of Mukachevo, since the sage lived here for some time and was very fond of this 
city.

Preliminary, the monument to Andriy Voron is planned to be installed somewhere in the historical 
part of the city. However, they expect propositions and ideas from residents of Mukachevo on the 
installation of the future monument.
