In Svalyava district, a young man did not want to let his girlfriend go abroad and stole her documents. The case is now being investigated by local investigators. Criminal proceeding over the incident has been opened.
A resident of the village of Pasika reported a theft to the police of the Svalyava district. The 19-year-old girl reported that a bag with money and documents had been stolen from her.
Law enforcement officers found out that a 21-year-old friend of the victim was involved in the theft. The young man did not want to let his girlfriend go abroad, so he came to her place and stole from the corridor a bag with documents. The man said that he did it only because he knew that the girl would not go anywhere without the passport. The stolen things have already been returned to the victim.
This case will now be investigated by local investigators. The police opened a criminal proceeding over a crime under Part 3 of Article 357 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie the unlawful seizure of a passport or other important personal document.
