Yesterday, at the customs post "Dyakove" of the Transcarpathian customs office a refrigerated trailer for a truck "Iveco" was seized from a Ukrainian citizen. The cause of the incident is illegal transportation of of tobacco products across the customs border of Ukraine and concealing them from customs authorities in a specially equipped cache.
During the inspection of the empty vehicle moving from Romania to Ukraine, driven by a citizen of Ukraine, they found a specially made hiding place in a cavity across the bottom of the semitrailer. In particular, after dismantling the trailer bottom, they found a total of 761 packs of tobacco products with excise stamps of Ukraine and without excise stamps.
Thus, the Ukrainian committed acts with signs of violation of customs rules under Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The report of violation of customs rules was drawn up, the goods and the vehicle being the direct objects of customs rules violation were confiscated.
The origin of the cigarettes, the purpose of their transportation and the information on the purpose and use of the cache is being established.
