A gun was seized at the customs post “Maly Berezny”

Yesterday, May 7, a foreigner tried to export from Ukraine an item similar to a gun and ammunition for it without permits. It occurred at the customs post "Maly Berezny" of the Transcarpathian customs office, where a Slovak citizen arrived in a car "Volvo S60".

The foreigner chose the "green corridor" for customs control.

Following the order of transportation of goods across the customs border of Ukraine and taking all risks into account, customs officers took the vehicle out of the "green" and sent it to the "red corridor".

An item similar to a pistol "ZORAKI – M 906" and 40 pieces of 9mm caliber ammunition were found as a result of the in-depth inspection of the citizen’s car and belongings.

The item was found in the glove compartment of the car interior. Access to it was not hindered.

The Slovak citizen recognized the gun as his property, but at the time of crossing the customs border, he had no documents that would authorize him to legally carry the object resembling a gun and ammunition for it across the customs border of Ukraine.

The actions of the citizen of Slovakia have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine (violation of the procedure of customs control in areas (corridors) of the simplified customs control).

Currently, the report has been drafted and, on the basis of Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the goods being the direct objects of violation of customs regulations were seized.
