On December 23, at 18.00, in the Christmas village on Nezalezhnist embankment (near the Ukrtelecom), there will be the transfer of Bethlehem peace fire to inhabitants of Uzhgorod.
It has become a tradition at Plast, to bring the Peace Fire of Bethlehem to every home on the eve of Christmas. With this noble cause, for many years we have been uniting the hearts of all Ukrainians: from east to west, from south to north. To carry the fire to every town, every parish, every home, every family, every child, everyone who needs it is our mission in this pre-holiday time.
Bethlehem fire is a symbol of warmth, peace, harmony and kindness. That’s why we have been doing it for many years. Every year, we unite hearts with the warmth of the fire.
This fire is always burning in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ. Bethlehem fire comes to us via the "Scout relay," which was launched by Austrian scouts, who light their candles in Bethlehem and spread the fire as a symbol of peace, love, brotherhood, unity of Scouts around the world. In Ukraine, it is spread by the Plast members.
So, we invite you tomorrow to the transfer of Bethlehem fire. Come with lamps and bring the light of peace to your homes.
