Police officers of Transcarpathian region are investigating a case involving illegal activities of several residents of the region, who were committing drug crimes for a long time.
During the investigation of a criminal proceeding, officers of the Investigative Department of the Transcarpathian regional police together with officers of the Office for the Prevention of Narcotics Crimes, officers of the KORD and the special purpose police company detained nine members of an organized criminal group. It was established that these residents of Transcarpathia were engaged in the sale of methamphetamine and cannabis in particularly large quantities. Drugs were supplied from abroad. In addition to Transcarpathia, they were distributing prohibited substances on the territory of other regions.
A criminal proceeding was opened over the incident under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues). In the course of investigative and operational measures, more than 20 searches were carried out at the detainees’ places of residence. Police officers seized narcotics, weapons and large amounts of money. The investigation continues.
