Officers of Transcarpathian customs office seized 13 knives from a citizen of Ukraine at the checkpoint "Maly Berezny".

The citizen was crossing the border, moving from Czech Republic to Ukraine by a car "ŠKODA Octavia" and chose to undergo simplified customs control – the "green corridor".

However, customs inspectors, taking into account all the risks, decided to inspect the car. And not for nothing: in the luggage compartment of the vehicle, they found a travel bag with 13 knives in gray plastic cases which had not been reported in the customs declaration and during the oral questioning. The access to the found objects was not obstructed.

The Ukrainian explained that the travel bag had been given to him by a friend, and he, in turn, was supposed to deliver it to his wife. He did not know that there were knives in the bag.

The knives are made of black metal. The total length of a knife is 29 cm. The blade length is 16.5 cm, width is 2 cm. The length of the handle is 12.5 cm. The inscription "Made in Austria" is engraved on blades near the handle.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine failed to properly provide accurate and true information about the items that are restricted to movement across the customs border of Ukraine.

These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Under Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the goods being the objects of the customs rules violation (13 knives) were confiscated, the press service of the SFS in Transcarpathia informs.
