A drug dealing taxi driver was caught in Uzhgorod

A car "Dacia Logan" was stopped by traffic policemen on one of Uzhgorod streets for traffic rules violation.

It was driven by a 37-year-old resident of the city, a private taxi driver. During the conversation with the police, the driver behaved suspiciously: he was shaking, he was constantly wiping his face for no apparent reason and did not respond adequately…

This naturally cuased suspicion and the traffic policemen called investigators from the division to combat drug trafficking of Uzhgorod City Police Department.

It turned out that this man had already had police records for the crime associated with drug sales. The police officers asked the young man if he had any illegal items, in response the driver voluntarily, in the presence of witnesses, took out of his pocket a 2 ml medical syringe filled with a white powdery substance similar to methamphetamine and a foil roll with a green herbal substance similar to marijuana.

The seized substance was sent for examination. This incident was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations. The criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Art. 309 (trafficking of drugs) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been initiated – Diana Dorohiy from Uzhgorod City Police Department reported.
