A builder, who paints: an exhibition of an artist from Ivano-Frankivsk opened in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

"If art is your calling, you paint even despite a not very artistic occupation" – this is an artist from Ivano-Frankivsk Mykola Kachur.  His personal exhibition has opened in the hall of Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life. He was born in Odesa region in January 2, 1957. But he has been living in Ivano-Frankivsk for a long time now. He has his own construction company there and, despite that, has been painting for 5 years now. Painting is his calling.

In Uzhgorod, the artist presented 24 works, most of which are from this year.

The exhibition in Uzhgorod is not the first one. The artist has sent his works to contests, in particular "Picturesque Ukraine", and was exhibited in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Realism in its purest form for Mykola Kachur is a bit boring. He experiments and likes to paint expressively, with bold strokes.

The artist Mykola Kachur admits that he found himself only when he turned 55. He is not a trained artist, but he learns from professional painters. Exhibiting his works in Uzhgorod for Mykola Kachur is an honor. Because he knows a lot about the Transcarpathian school of painting and has studied it. He believes that it is something to look up to.

The exhibition will run until June 24.
