The head of the customs office Volodymyr Kolesnikov on reforms, replacement of managers, tests and combating corruption.

– Reforms, which are taking place today at the Ukrainian customs, are intended not only to make cosmetic repairs, but also to confirm that the European vector, that Ukraine has chosen, is being enforced. Currently, at the Transcarpathian customs office, there are not much talks about it, because, I think, real actions are better than talks, – Volodymyr Kolesnikov, the head of the Transcarpathian customs office said.

– One of the main challenges for us is to minimize the smuggling of goods across the customs border. In this area, we are working not only to identify and combat violations during customs formalities at the border, but also to prevent abuses by officials through their actions or omissions that could facilitate illegal activities of smugglers – the head of the customs office said.

Since July 22, 2015, taking into account the position of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, as a result of actions taken to improve the work of the customs office, 90% of the management of the Transcarpathian customs office have been replaced, in particular, new head of the customs office, first deputy, deputies and heads of customs posts have been appointed.

The State Fiscal Service is implementing new techniques and methods of recruitment. Thus, computer testing for employees will be held very soon. This test is intended to determine the professional and personal qualities of the SFS employees. A consortium of independent HR-experts will be engaged in the test.

– I want to emphasize that we work for people, for business, we are moving towards providing the most convenient services, simplification of customs clearance, but we do not tolerate corruption – it is our number one enemy, and we invite all concerned, responsible citizens to get involved in this fight. One of the ways is the anti-corruption service "Pulse" by the phone number (044) 284-00-07. You can report misconduct of customs officials, possible corruption activities on their part. Call us, together we will achieve effective results faster – the head of the customs office stressed.
