5 years in prison for illegally transporting people across the border

Two citizens of Ukraine, who were detained in August 2019 for organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border, were sentenced to five years in prison. Two Ukrainians and four Afghan nationals were detained near the Ukrainian-Hungarian border by border guards of the Mukachevo border guard detachment. Criminal proceedings over the incident were opened.
By the verdict of Beregovo district court, which came into force on January 25, 2020, the men were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine", the press service of Mukachevo border guard detachment reported.
