In the period from 22 to 26 of September, 2016, numerous cases of alcohol surrogate poisoning, including facts of deaths due to intoxication after consumption of counterfeit vodka, were recorded in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Criminal proceedings were initiated over the said facts under Article 115 “Murder” and Part 3 of Article 204 “Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation with intent to sell of excisable goods” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
