The portal osvita.ua published the updated data on the positions of Ukrainian universities in the Webometrics Ranking of World’s Universities. The traditional ranking of world universities publishes updated research results twice a year – in January and July. In six months, Uzhgorod National University has significantly strengthened its position in this rating and is currently ranked 24th among all Ukrainian universities.
In developing the Webometrics Ranking of World’s Universities, the rating developers take into account the number of the educational establishment’s site pages indexed by search engines, external links to it, the citation index of the resource, as well as the number of files uploaded to the site. In other words, the content and information component of the university web site are evaluated.
The new web-rating of world’s universities is based on systematized data obtained by developers in July 2017. In general, the rating covers more than 27,000 universities and educational institutions from around the world. Higher education institutions from Ukraine also received their rating web-positions.
Uzhgorod National University has significantly improved its presence in the network over the past three years and has risen from the 127th position (July 2014) to the 24th (as of today) among more than 300 Ukrainian universities.
