Eastern "Wild Field" is a film adaptation of Serhiy Zhadan’s cult novel "Voroshilovgrad" and Yaroslav Lodygin’s debut film. The protagonist of the film has to to return to his hometown in the Donbass. His older brother has disappeared, and now the protagonist has to protect the family business – an old gas station. The film was co-produced by Ukraine, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
In 2018, the film received the Golden Whirligig Award for Best Actors, Production Designer, Cinematographer and Sound Director.
The screening will take place as part of the New Ukrainian Cinema Festival organized by Arthouse Traffic with the support of the State Agency for Cinematography of Ukraine.
