Uzhgorod city council has launched the process of elimination of the city housing areas

This may be the effects of the competition for house maintenance announced today.

The decision to conduct it was adopted on Wednesday, March 25, by Uzhgorod City Executive Committee. The draft decision of the executive committee states that the competition will be held by May 1 of this year. And the reason for it is "the poor state of housing and communal services". Also, the competition will be held "in order to attract private investment in the sector of housing and communal services for maintenance of buildings, structures and adjoining areas in the city" – the Holos Karpat writes. 

So, the competition for housing services has been announced in Uzhgorod. The competition should be held by May 1 of this year, although initially the defined term was by April 1. 

It should be noted that the first attempt to adopt this decision was unsuccesful because two members of the executive committee decided to abstain from voting. Then the first deputy mayor Ivan Voloshin joined the discussion. On the second attempt, the issue was finally approved and the competition was announced.

By the approved document, it was decided to announce a competition for serving 3 of 6 sectors that the city is conventionally divided into.

In February, by a separate decision, the executive committee divided Uzhgorod into conventional 6 areas. The competition for the maintenance of housing stock in 3 areas was announced earlier, today they voted for announcement of the competition for another 3 service areas, – the Zakarpattya online writes. 

During the Executive Committee meeting, it was noted that the announcement of the competition is part of the process to initiate liquidation of housing areas.
