Mukachevo City and District Court upheld the position of the prosecutor and found two Transcarpathians guilty of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – grievous bodily harm that caused the victim’s death, and sentenced each of them to 7 years in prison.
The pre-trial investigation found out that the men, while being drunk, started a quarrel with their fellow villager, during which he was severely beaten. As a result of the injuries, he died.
According to the Prosecutor of Mukachevo district Oleg Opishnyak: "The guilt of the accused in the alleged crime was fully proved by the evidence found during the preliminary investigation."
