Transcarpathian deputies have set up a control committee that will study the topic of wind turbines in the Borzhava

At the suggestion of the deputy of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, Andriy Shekheta, representing Mizhhirya district, a temporary control committee was set up to examine the feasibility and risks of constructing wind turbine generators in the Borzhava valley and in the vicinity of it.

As is well known and actively discussed in the media and social networks in the region, an Israeli investor plans to build a large set of wind power plants there. However, experts from various industries point out that it poses risks to the ecosystem and threatens to destroy the local tourism potential. Also, paragliders oppose it, because Mount Hymba is a unique base for this sport and is used for international competitions, and wind turbines will make it impossible. At the suggestion of the deputy, the committee included representatives from each faction of the regional council. Members of the committee are deputies Andriy Andriyiv, Petro Dobromilsky, Oleksandr Ledyda, Karlo Rezesh and Vasyl Khudynets.

Currently, the project is not supported by Mizhhirya district council, while Svalyava and Volovets local authorities endorsed it. Therefore, the investor, who plans to put wind turbines on the border with Mizhhirya district, declares its readiness to begin work.

Recall that concerned Transcarpathians created in the social network the community "Save Borzhava", where they post expert opinions, including those on European experience in wind energy.
