Transcarpathian customs officers seized a CITROEN and more than 8 kg of amber

A CITROEN C6 arrived at the customs control zone of the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" of the Transcarpathian Customs. The driver, a citizen of Ukraine, chose for customs control the "green corridor" lane, thus indicating that he was carrying objects that are not subject to compulsory written declaration or taxation with customs and other payments or fees and not subject to prohibitions or restrictions for transportation across the customs border of Ukraine.

However, based on analysis and risk assessment, officers of the Transcarpathian customs office took the vehicle out of the general flow for customs inspection.

As a result of the customs inspection of the car, they found more than 8 kilograms of amber in processed and unprocessed form hidden from customs control in the caches.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine committed actions aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control using specially manufactured caches.

These actions contain signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the goods being the direct objects of the violation of customs regulations – amber and the car CITROEN C6 worth UAH 184,372 – were seized.
