Transcarpathia: Black PR against Poroshenko

Recently, a 4-page newspaper titled "Just the Facts" appeared in mailboxes of Uzhgorod residents.

The front page features the image of Poroshenko, Vitali Klitschko and Firtash and the inscription "Do not make wrong choice for the president. Firtash – Poroshenko – Klitschko. Vienna alliance under the auspices of oligarchs."

The content of all 4 pages is plain black PR against Poroshenko without alternative opinions. The first and second pages feature reprint of the investigation by Serhiy Leshchenko from the "Ukrainian Truth" of April 2, 2014. The third page features the publication on Poroshenko’s houses and his instability in different political parties. On the fourth page, they state that Poroshenko is Vladimir Putin’s protege, as he has never condemned the Russian invasion. There is aslo mention of how the candidate received the rank in the Russian Orthodox Church.

All materials are reprints from electronic media with negative messages about the candidate, highlighted with special font on colored background.

Background information on the paper are incomplete – there is no information about the person in charge of the issue, contrary to the requirements of Part 3 of Article 59 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Election of the President of Ukraine."

It is likely that the indicated data on the circulation of the paper, the employer, and the place of print are untrue. At the fourth page, it states that the paper was printed by the "UPM" LLC. According to the Unified register of individuals and businesses, this legal entity is in a state of cessation of activity. Before that, the company specialized not in printing, but in retail trade in non-specialized stores.
