December 6, in Mizhhirya district they will "take the life" of a beautiful fir tree 20 meters tall and 80 years old. It then will be installed on Narodna Square in front of the Transcarpathian State Administration.
Interestingly, despite the fact that the Regional Forestry and Hunting Department encourages the people to refuse from felled Christmas trees and replace them with pot or artificial trees, the regional authorities are not in a hurry to show the progressive thinking on their own example, and continue to set felled giant fir trees, each year choosing the most beautiful trees in the region.
