The traditional wine festival in Beregovo was cancelled

The traditional wine festival, which was supposed to be held from 6 to 8 of March in Beregovo, will not take place. This was announced by the famous festival organizers of the Knight Wine Order of

St. Wenzel. "Today, at the meeting, it was decided to move the festival to another date. Probably, it will be May 1 or the Day of the city – in late May. The main reason is uncertainty, winemakers do not want to sell at nothing," – Yosyp Galayda, a representative of the organizing committee said.

The decision not to hold the entertainment event was also influenced by the events and the socio-political situation in Ukraine. Moreover, just recently, it was reported about the death of a soldier from the 128th brigade Oleksandr Tovt, a native of Beregovo.

The debate on the appropriateness of the festival in such a tragic time for our country took place on the page of the event in the social network "Facebook".

"Thousands of Ukrainians lost their lives defending their homeland… And the festival is entertainment, music, alcohol, food, etc. While many families are in grief and mourning" – those, who oppose the idea, wrote.

Others had their own arguments – "Life goes on, we all must work and look forward."

Volunteers also shared their views, "Look at festivals from a different perspective. This is also an opportunity for us volunteers, to make money with our work (not to ask, but to earn) for soldiers. Now they need our help."
