On Tuesday, December 15, at 12.00, in Uzhgorod Press Club, there will be a meeting, "Addressing the issue of interaction in fighting illegal tobacco products". The event will be held in cooperation with the NGO "Modern Ukrainian rating systems", which is involved in the national project to combat the trafficking of illegal tobacco products in Ukraine.
Representatives of Transcarpathian customs office, the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region, Chop border guard detachment, National Ploice of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, NGOs are invited to take part in the event.
Today, the extent of smuggling and illegal trade of excise goods in Ukraine not only negatively affects the country’s economy, bringing losses in amount of UAH 2 billion annually, but also destabilizes the situation in the country.
Therefore, the issue of developing the National Strategy for Combating Illegal Trade of Excisable Goods is very relevant in Ukraine.
During the meeting, government officials and community activists will discuss issues of interaction in the fight against smuggling in Ukraine and will make proposals to the main principles of the National Strategy for Combating Illegal Trade of Excisable Goods
