Under the plan to implement the concept of integrated border management and cooperation between the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Police of Hungary, on January 1, 2017, the joint contact point "Záhony" was commenced in test mode at the car crossing point "Tisa – Záhony" on the Hungarian side.
The main functions of this center are to maintain communication and messaging between the border guards of the two countries, and to ensure coordination of actions during joint measures to protect the Ukrainian-Hungarian section of the border and combating criminal activities.
Currently, the contact center is operating in test mode, which will take place for about 3 weeks, and then the first contact point in Transcarpathian region will be operating in normal mode.
