The body of the Czech skier, who disappeared on March 2, has been found in the Carpathians

Today, March 9, around 13:00, on the southeastern slope between the mountains of Blyznytsia and
Mala Blyznytsia, the body of the 29-year-old citizen of the Czech Republic, who disappeared on
March 2, was found.

The body of the deceased was located under a layer of snow at a depth of two meters and was found
by selective probing of snow at the site of a cornice collapse by one of the search teams. The search
for the missing tourist lasted almost 8 days.

In this regard, the Office of the Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region appeals to
tourists and fans of extreme sports to refrain from hiking in the mountains during severe weather
conditions or when avalanche hazard is announced. We insist on mandatory registration of all who is
going to go to the Carpathians. Upon the registration at mountain search and rescue stations you can
receive the most expeditious information about weather conditions in certain areas, avalanche
hazard, determine the best route, depending on the skills of the trip participants.
