Police in Transcarpathia detained two drunk drivers, both were driving cars with foreign registration

Over the past 24 hours, officers of the Transcarpathia Patrol Police response teams have documented cases of driving under the influence of alcohol in Tyachiv and Svalyava districts.

In the city of Svalyava, late in the evening, police officers spotted a car Volkswagen Passat with a foreign registration that was making strange maneuvers. The car was stopped, it was driven by a 41-year-old resident of the village of Holubyne in Svalyava district. The driver had signs of intoxication, at first he agreed to undergo medical examination in the hospital, but in the hospital he refused to do so. Based on the conclusion of the doctor, the police officers made an appropriate report of administrative offense and seized the driver’s license. 

In the village of Neresnytsia in Tyachiv district, at night, officers of the Dubove Patrol Police Department stopped a foreign-registered car Opel Vectra, which had exceeded the speed limit and was making strange maneuvers. The car was driven by a 27-year-old local resident in the state of alcohol intoxication. 2 ppm of alcohol was found in his blood; the law enforcement officers made an appropriate report of administrative offense.
The reports of administrative offenses against both offenders under Art. 130 of the CAO (Driving a vehicle by a person who is in a state of alcohol intoxication) will be forwarded to the court for making a final decision.
