Perechyn police arrested bank “robbers”

An almost tragicomic story happened yesterday in the city of Perechyn. At one o’clock, local police was reported that an unknown man wearing camouflage, a balaclava and with a gun in his hands had entered the Oshchadbank branch on Franko street in Perechyn. 

The investigative team and the response team of the patrol police arrived at the scene. They arrested a man armed with a pneumatic gun.  

Then, it tuned out that the employees of the regional Oshchadbank had staged the armed robbery in Perechyn branch to shoot a promotional video about the course of actions during an armed bank robbery. The armed robber was played by a bank employee from Uzhgorod. However, they did not inform the police about it… 

Fortunately, law enforcement officers quickly sorted everything out and it did not come to the use of weapons. Otherwise, the consequences could have been tragic, as in accordance with article 46 of the Law of Ukraine "On the national police", law enforcement officers have the right to use weapons when detaining armed robbers.
