Over 86 hectares of gardens have been palnted in the region in 2013

This is 2.5 times more than planned

Today Uzhgorod farmers grow more than 10 varieties of apples, peaches, apricots, cherries, pears, brought from Italy and Hungary. Thus, at the farm "Renet" over the area of ​​4 hectares, they have installed the "Anti-hail" system – in 2012 the farm received from the regional budget partial reimbursement of expenses for the purchase of this system in the amount of 140,000 UAH:

       The owner of the farm "Renet" Semen Tyzhuk said:

       – With the help of the "Anti-hail" system, yield losses have been significantly reduced. We also use new hardy varieties that allow to grow more healthy and resistant to weather products.

        During the implementation of the Program for the state support of hop, planting of and supervision over young orchards, vineyards and berries, 767 acres of orchards and 196 acres of berries have been planted in the region, accounting for almost 55% of all the available space in the commodity sector of fruit plantations.

  Currently, gardening is one of the priority areas of agriculture in Transcarpathian region. Total area of ​​fruit plantations in all categories of farms is 13,000 hectares which in 2012 produced 114,000 tons of yield, and in agricultural enterprises – 1,4000 hectares, and the yield, respectively, was 11,200 tons.  

In 2013, gardens have been planted over the area 86.6 hectares, 2.5 times more than planned in accordance with the plans for socio-economic development of the region in 2013 – the press-center of the RSA reported.
