On Monday the city authorities will get to advertising! Billboards on the supporting wall are the first in the list

On Monday, "the great advertising cleaning" is to begin in Uzhgorod – services and departments of the city executive committee will start dealing with outdoor advertising. Namely, they will check the permits, the information on what basis certain billboards and city lights were installed, whether the agreements on their installation are valid and whether all payments for them are received properly.

Once this issue has been repeatedly raised by the public already to the new authorities (and not forgetting a lot of attention in the past), Victor Shchadey commenting on the meeting of the executive committee, said that it would be done.

For a long time now, people who care about the appearence of the city have been stressing that the historical center should not be cluttered with outdoor advertising, which spoils the look of the city. Primarily, it concerns the boards on the supporting wall of the Uzh river.

Also Victor Shchadey said: it’s not as if we are going to thoughtlessly get rid of advertising all together – it is an integral part of the business. and it is needed. But we must restore order. even more so since tourism and, consequently, the quality of the urban environment is a priority in Uzhgorod. Thus, the process of clearing the historic center from "advertising trash" should begin in the coming days. We are waiting…
