In Mukachevo, a police officer was injured during a fight

Investigators opened criminal proceedings over infliction of bodily harm to an officer of the Mukachevo Police Department. The offender was detained in a temporary detention facility 
Yesterday, January 23, around 8:30 pm, on Kosmonavt Belyaev Street in Mukachevo, a police officer, while not being on active duty, witnessed a conflict between unknown persons. The law enforcement officer intervened in the fight to settle it.
One of the persons involved in the fight began to threaten the policeman with physical violence and inflicted bodily harm to the policeman.
The offender was taken to the police station. He was a 31-year-old resident of Mukachevo. According to the results of medical examination, the man was intoxicated. A breathalyzer showed 1.80 ppm in his blood.
The police detained the 31-year-old man under Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and placed him in a temporary detention center.
The investigators opened criminal proceedings over the crime under Part 2 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional infliction of injury to a law enforcement officer). The investigation into the case is ongoing.
