Hungarian Cultural and Educational Center has been opened in Ivano-Frankivsk (PHOTOS)

Today, the celebrations on the occasion of the opening of the Hungarian Cultural and Educational Center took place in Ivano-Frankivsk. 
The event was attended by the Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod, Jozsef Buhajla, the Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Dmytro Romanyuk, the Head of the Hungarian Cultural and Educational Center in the region Myroslava Nahornyak, the Honorary Consul of Hungary in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk and region Vasyl Vyshyvanyuk, representatives of public organizations, mass media and Hungarian societies..
The main purpose of this center is to introduce educational, scientific and cultural activities aimed at spreading and informing the population of the region about the cultural heritage, traditions, history of the Hungarian people and their ties with the Ukrainian people.
During the festivities, the history of the Hungarians living in the Carpathian region was presented. They told about how the Hungarian community lives today, the events organized by the center, exhibitions, children’s recreation and search for burial places of the Hungarian soldiers who died during the First and Second World Wars, and more.
Children from Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian Hungarian national and cultural societies welcomed the guests with song performances.
