15-year-old criminal who robbed a gas station in Uzhgorod was taken into custody

Transcarpathia was shocked by the news that a 15-year-old Uzhgorod resident had robbed a gas station using a gun.

The robber took 2,500 hryvnias from cash register. The minor attacker was detained in Irshava, where he was visiting his acquaintances.

As it turned out, the juvenile offender had committed a similar crime previously, but the teenager was exempted from criminal liability.

The investigating judge of the Uzhgorod City and District Court decided to take the teenager into custody for 60 days without bail.

The court also found out that a theft conviction had been announced in January this year, but the teenager was released from criminal liability due to the fact that he had not reached the age of 15 at the time of the crime.

Currently, the young man is suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – an attack for the purpose of taking someone else’s property, combined with the threat of violence, dangerous to life or health of a person, combined with breaking and entering.

The 15-year-old Uzhgorod resident faces imprisonment for a term of seven to twelve years with confiscation of property.
