Special operation in Uzhgorod district: suspects in armed robbery were detained (VIDEO)

Today, October 1, in the morning, the police received a report of an attack on the house of a resident of Uzhgorod district, the Communications department of the Transcarpathian regional police informs. 
The applicant stated that his 18-year-old daughter was in the house at the time of the crime. Having arrived promptly at the scene, the police established that at about 9:00 am, an unknown person had broken into a private house in the village of Tsyhanivka. 
A man armed with a pistol, threatening with a weapon, illegally took from the house cash in the amount of about 50 thousand hryvnias and fled the scene. According to the description, the attacker was wearing a dark tracksuit, mask and gloves. Also, according to her, he had an accomplice who drove the attacker. 
Officers of the Uzhgorod criminal police immediately put an APB on the attacker and began searching for the perpetrators. Soon in the Horyany neighbourhood, policemen noticed a man who matched the description. Seeing the policemen, the man began to flee across the field. Two policemen chased him for a kilometer and a half and eventually detained him. Meanwhile, the operatives of the Main Police Office of Transcarpathia, together with colleagues from the district, established the whereabouts of the accomplice, who was waiting for his friend in the car. 
The detainees were identified. They are a 29-year-old resident of the village of Rozivka, Uzhgorod district, and a 40-year-old resident of the regional center of Transcarpathia. Both have been repeatedly convicted of property crimes. 
Currently, the police detained the men in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed them in a temporary detention center. 
Investigators opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie robbery committed by a group of persons with the threat of violence and combined with breaking and entering. 
During the inspection, weapons, money and an iron crowbar were found and confiscated from the detainees. 
The detainees face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
