At the checkpoint “Tisa”, a man’s Volkswagen was seized because of hidden packs of cigarettes (PHOTOS)

Border guards found contraband cigarettes in a minibus. A 40-year-old man tried to smuggle a large number of tobacco products across the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. While inspecting a Ukrainian-registered minibus Volkswagen that had arrived at the checkpoint "Tisa" last night, border guards noticed changes in the car’s design.  
Therefore, it was decided to inspect the vehicle in depth. During the inspection, border guard together with customs officers found caches in the minibus. 295 packs of cigarettes of various brands were hidden in the doorsteps of the vehicle . 
After the completion of the necessary procedural measures, the tobacco products hidden from the border customs control and the 2010 Volkswagen minibus were confiscated in accordance with the current legislation. The total estimated value is almost  280 thousand hryvnias.
