Flu is raging: on Monday, quarantine will be introduced in Uzhgorod school

On Monday, January 28, Uzhgorod schools will be closed for quarantine due to the increase in the incidence of ARVI and flu, the press service of the city council informed.

This decision was made today at the meeting of the anti-epidemic commission at the Uzhgorod City Council. 
Over the past week, 1037 cases (909.6 per 100 thousand people) of acute respiratory viral infections were registered in Uzhgorod. The growth compared to the last week is 32.6% (+255 cases). It is 50.7% higher than the epidemic threshold (603.5 per 100 thousand people).

Among the infected people, 59.7% (619 cases) are children under the age of 17, which is 99 persons more than the previous week (520). The increase is 19.4%.

The percentage of all hospitalized patients is 15%. The majority of them are children – 82.3%.

 

The share of sick children of school age among all patients in the last week was 36.6% (380 children, growth by 37.2% compared to the previous week).

Therefore, the commission decided to close the schools from Monday, January 28 until the epidemic situation is stabilized. Kindergartens will continue working with certain restrictive quarantine measures.
Comprehensive anti-epidemic measures to prevent the spread of flu and acute respiratory viral infections will be taken in all schools and kindergartens.
