In Uzhgorod, law enforcement officers shut down the network for illegal sale of surrogate cognac and vodka

Currently, six Uzhgorod citizens have been found to be involved in the crime. 
 Under the procedural control of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region, the detectives of the Department for Investigation of Particularly Serious Crimes of the Transcarpathian regional police conducted a number of searches in the premises where counterfeit cognac and vodka were produced and bottled. 
During the six authorized searches conducted by law enforcement officers in the city of Uzhgorod and Uzhgorod district, they found bottles of counterfeit cognac and vodka with excise stamps, which had signs of possible counterfeiting.  The found products were seized and will be sent for examination. 
In addition, they seized more than 100 liters of various counterfeit products in plastic containers, about 2500 excise duty stamps, more than 1 thousand new caps for bottles of "Tisa-Zakarpatsky" cognac, various implements and several machines for bottling and packing of alcoholic beverages. The record books with quantities and prices of the sold counterfeit priducts were also found. 
Within the framework of the criminal proceedings registered under Part 2 of Art. 364 and Part 1 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, urgent investigative activities are being carried out. The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by the investigators of the Transcarpathian regional police. The Transcarpathian Prosecutor’s Office provides procedural oversight of the investigation.
