How Transcarpathian people’s deputies voted for the land bill

Members of the "Servant of the People" faction – Krivosheev, Kostyukh and Laba – voted "for". Independent Horvat, Lunchenko and Petyovka supported the bill. Deputies from the group "For the future" voted differently: Baloha – against, Polyak – abstained.  Krul from "Batkivshchyna" did not support the bill, having voted against it.

What the bill envisages

The main parameters of the approved draft law are the following: – the minimum starting price for the sale of state and communal land plots at land auctions shall be set at a level not lower than the regulatory monetary valuation;

– ownership of more than 35% of agricultural lands of a united community, 15% of agricultural lands of the region, and 0.5% of agricultural lands of Ukraine shall not be allowed; one person can own up to 200,000 hectares of land;

– the pre-emptive right of tenants to purchase the land is secured;

– the right of citizens to purchase land for farm activity, which belongs to them under the right of permanent use and the right of lifelong inherited possession, is ensured. 

– the President may impose sanctions for the sale of land. Foreign states, an indefinite number of persons engaged in certain activity (sectoral sanctions) and individual legal and natural persons may be subject to sanctions.
