Transcarpathia won a project for the restoration of the Nevytsky castle

      Transcarpathian region will receive 11.2 million hryvnias for first block of urgent works on restoration of the monument of national significance – Nevytsky castle. These are the results of the contest for projects in the field of tourism and recreation, conducted by the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine. The lion’s share of the money (namely UAH 10.7 million) will be allocated by the State Budget of Ukraine within the framework of financing regional development projects, which can be implemented at the expense of the funds received from the European Union, another UAH 500 thousand will be allocated from the regional budget of Transcarpathia. The funds are expected to be received at the end of the first quarter of this year.

– The project, in particular, provides for the restoration of the central tower with a complete replacement of the roof and reinforcement of the wooden structures, construction of the observation deck, reinforcement of the tower walls, restoration of the small tower, the conservation of the castle ruins, the landscaping of the territory, the installation of outdoor lighting, etc., – Hennadiy Moskal says. – We were able to initiate the restoration of this object, which is considered one of the tourist gems of Transcarpathia, only last autumn – after the castle had been returned to the balance sheet of the region.

Recall that in October last year H.Moskal, by his order, transferred the Nevytsky castle under the operational management of the relevant unit of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration – the Department of Culture.
