Volodymyr Groysman personally inspected the construction of the M-25 highway (PHOTOS)

During the working visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine to Transcarpathian region, Volodymyr Groysman personally inspected the construction of the M-25 highway "Solomonovo" – Velyka Dobron – Yanoshi" in Uzhgorod district, which was included to the list of the worst roads. 

The delegation of government officials headed by the Prime Minister was accompanied by the leaders of the region – Mykhailo Rivis and Hennadiy Moskal, people’s deputies – Robert Horvat and Valeriy Lunchchenko, Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv, the director of the Department of Infrastructure, Development and Maintenance of Highway Network and Housing and Communal Services of the RSA Eduard Malyar and others.

– This route coincides with the sections of the international highways M-24 Velyka Dobron – Mukacheve – Beregove – checkpoint "Luzhanka", and M-25 Checkpoint "Solomonovo" – Velyka Dobron – Yanoshi – checkpoint "Kosino", – the head of the road service in Transcarpathian region Mykhailo Popovich told the Prime Meinister and added: – The highway on this route has not been overhauled over 30 years. Therefore, its surface is extremely worn out and requires at least medium repair along the entire length.

The head of the road service in the region also informed that they have concluded a contract with the winner of tender bids for UAH 275.5 million. This year, according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, UAH 100.0 million is provided in the State Budget for the said repair. He also showed the government officials how repairs are being carried out on this road section.

 

Together with the regional officials, the people’s deputies also asked the Prime Minister of Ukraine to help allocate the necessary funds for the development of the entire road infrastructure in Transcarpathia. Since our region, which borders with four European countries, has not received proper state funding for years, while the transit traffic is constantly increasing and the roads are being ruined by trucks heading to the international checkpoints of Hungary, Slovakia and Romania.

For his part, Volodymyr Groysman assured that he would facilitate in the allocation of the necessary funds, including transfers from the customs, because the issue of road building in Ukraine is a priority task of the Government. He personally controls the quality of roads, increasing the amount of funding for this, and much attention will be paid to local roads.
