13 Magnets of Transcarpathia. Attraction No. 6 - Khust district spas
During the holidays, people wonder where to go to rest to recover and gain new impressions.
You can go abroad, but Transcarpathia has a unique recreation area, that can give it all. So, we present to you "magnet" No. 6 for visiting our region - Khust district, Transcarpathian spa.
The first thing that comes to mind when mentioning Khust district is narcissi, but it is a seasonal tourist product; the ruins of the castle, but contemplation is not everything; legacy of the Carpathian Ukraine (its capital was in the city of Khust), but not all of us are history lovers; tasting of cheese and... snails is also interesting; we should not forget about the unique traditions of weaving, but they do not give us the full range of impressions.
Those are great tourist attractions and reasons to come here, but sometimes you want a more passive rest, one that can help your body and mind to recover. SPA (mineral and thermal water treatment) is what you need!
And this district has a lot to offer. Mineral zone Shayan is known since the XVIII century. They say, there was a more than 10 km long narrow-gauge railway there. (Vyshkovo - Shayan). But, perhaps even before that, the rulers of the Khust castle came here to rest. There is even the opinion that local waters were mixed with wine and such "wine waters" were shipped in barrels or bottles wrapped in vine to Vienna and Budapest.
Indeed, the main attraction of this place are mineral water deposits with a unique composition and medicinal properties. They are the main reason to come here. Dozens of sanatoriums, recreation centers and boarding houses, where the whole range of illnesses is treated.
Thermal water treatment and mud treatment are now also very popular. If you want to give a try, visit Velyatino. There is a wide choice. But whatever you choose, incredible landscapes and hospitable reception are guaranteed.
