In the village of Bushtyno, the driver of a Škoda Octavia ran over a pedestrian and fled. As a result of the injuries, the local resident died on the spot. The driver was found and brought to justice by the police.
Yesterday, April 15, at 22:55, the police received a report that in the village of Bushtyno, a car had killed a man and left the scene.
At the scene, the investigative time found out that the accident had occurred in the village of Bushtyno on Tsentralna street. The driver of a Škoda Octavia was driving towards the city of Khust and hit a pedestrian – a 23-year-old local resident. The man died on the spot from injuries. To detain the culprit of the accident, who had fled from the scene, the police initiated the "Interception" plan.
In a few hours, policemen found the suspect. As it turned out, after the road accident, the man parked the car in the yard of his relatives’. The suspect – a 40-year-old fellow villager of the victim – was detained by law enforcement. The man admitted his guilt.
He is charged with a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the road safety rules). The car was taken to the impound lot of Tyachiv police station. The choice of a pre-trial restraint is being decided.
