On Sunday, January 22, a number of activities on the occasion of the Day of Unification of Ukraine will take place in Uzhgorod, – Uzhgorod city council informs.
The celebrations with the participation of the management of the region will begin at 10.45 with the opening of the memorial plaque to the chairman of the Central Council of the Ukrainian People’s Republic Mykhailo Hrushevsky on the facade of the House of Trade Unions (Narodna Square, 3).Then, the participants will lay flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko.
At 11.00, in honor of the Act of Unification, young people will unfurl on Narodna Square a 100-meter-long flag of Ukraine and make a solemn procession along Nezalezhnist embankment to the monument of the president of Carpatho-Ukraine Augustin Voloshin.
Traditionally, the brass band of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic has prepared for the Day of Unification of Ukraine a big concert of the best Ukrainian music. Along with the brass band, the string band of the Chamber Orchestra of the Philharmonic will perform on the main stage of the region. The concert starts at 16.00.
