New trees are being planted in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

Today, new trees have been planted in the central part of Uzhgorod. Red-leaf sakura, Pisardi plums and Nedzvedsky apple trees will be growing on Hoyda, Mendeleyev, Dovzhenko, Ferenc Rakoczi, Brashchayky, Nebesna Sotnya (former Uralska), Stavrovskii-Popradov (former Mayakovsky) streets, and in Masaryk garden.

Scientists of the Biological Faculty of UzhNU together with representatives of the public and residents of the neighbourhood determined the assortment and place of planting, as well as removal of self-seedlings, damaged trees and those, that have lost their decorative character due to their age. It should be noted that the removed trees will be replaced with the same species and varieties. 
In total, 250 trees will be planted this year in the center of the city. The mayor Bohdan Andriyiv stressed that besides the central streets, new trees would be planted this year on Svoboda Avenue, Sobranetska and Peremoha streetsy, next year the landscaping work will continue.
